Existing political parties have failed to protect the values of freedom and liberty that have made the western world the pinnacle of human achievement. A good society is structured in such a way so that the most important day-to-day governance are best provided at the local municipal level. Let's call that "Main street", represented by a strong and vibrant middle class. Broader governance that is less influential in our everyday lives extends out to provincial and federal levels. Every level of government is subject to checks and balances to ensure no person or minority group can control our free and democratic society.
We reject the principle of centralized planning that is the foundation of every communist, fascist and socialist society. The notion that an appointed government expert can suppress the free flow of ideas, markets and personal opportunities is completely unacceptable in a good society.
Maxime Bernier created the People's Party of Canada because the old line parties have rejected the freedoms and liberties so important to a good society. The People's Party of Canada allows people, who still believe in freedom instead of centralized socialism, an option to support these views on the federal ballot. Instead of settling on the least worst option on the ballot, a vote for the People's Party of Canada is an option to support and promote a good society.
